We are entering into an era where various co-creation initiatives are emerging between professionals, researchers and practitioners in order to answer “wicked problem” dilemmas. Beyond the simple juxtaposition of knowledge within a multidisciplinary approach, designers nowadays are willing to work together towards a merging of knowledge within an interdisciplinary philosophy. This paper aims to study the spaces of confluence where different universes of knowledge, values and practices, specific to co-creation initiatives, meet, mainly in Hackathon projects. Through practical and theoretical lenses, the epistemological and teleological perspectives of co-creation, collaboration and education issues are examined within an interdisciplinary team. The goal is to better understand how creation and techno-scientific knowledge are co-formulated in order to become vectors for social innovation and entrepreneurship. These considerations constitute the basis for further research on interdisciplinary (engineering, design, social sciences, economics, etc) and intersectorial (private, public, community) team collaboration in a dynamics of mutual reinforcement.
